Abstract
Turizm sektörü, dünyada ve ülkemizde hızla gelişme gösteren bir sektördür. Sektöre katılan insan sayısı gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. İnsanlar artık yoğun çalışma hayatı içerisinde kendilerine vakit ayırma ihtiyacı hissetmekte ve çeşitli turizm faaliyetlerine katılmaktadırlar. Sene içerisinde belirli haftalar senelik izinler şeklinde ayırdıkları gibi, çalışma devrelerinde de hafta sonları gibi günübirlik rekreasyonel faaliyetlerde bulunabilmektedirler. İnsanların günümüzde bu denli turizm faaliyetleri içerisinde olması, dolayısıyla turizm sektörünün de rağbet görmesine ve genişlemesine sebep olmaktadır. Türkiyenin alternatif turizm merkezi olmaya aday yörelerinden biri de Samsunun Yakakent ilçesidir. Ancak şimdiye kadar ilçenin turizm olanakları yeterince araştırılmamış ve potansiyeli yeterince değerlendirilememiştir. Bu çalışmada Yakakent ilçesinin doğal ve kültürel turizm potansiyeli coğrafî bir bakış açısıyla incelenmektedir.

Abstract
The tourism sector is a rapidly developing sector in the world and in our country. The number of people participating in the sector is increasing day by day. People now feel the need to spend time in their busy working lives and participate in various tourism activities. They may have recreational activities on weekdays, such as on weekdays, as well as on weekly annual leave during the year. The fact that people are in such tourism activities nowadays causes the tourism sector to become popular and to expand. one of Turkey's candidate to become an alternative tourism center of the region is also Yakakent district of Samsun. However, until now the tourism possibilities of the county have not been sufficiently explored and their potential has not been sufficiently evaluated. This study examines the geographical point of view of the natural and cultural tourism potential of Yakakent.
