Abstract
Ege Denizinin merkezinde bulunan Kiklad (Cyclad) Adaları, Kanunî Devrindefethedilmiş ve yüzyıllar boyunca Türk idaresinde kalmıştır. Bununla birlikte Ege Adalarınınson derece özel bir yöreyi teşkil etmesi, adalardaki Osmanlı hâkimiyeti hakkında kolaycacevaplanması mümkün olmayan soruları gündeme getirmiştir. Bir başka ifadeyle bölgedekiTürk hâkimiyetinin tanımlanmasında yahut nitelendirilmesinde görüş birliği sağlanamamıştır.Şurası bir gerçektir ki; Kikladlar merkezî otoritenin güçlü bir şekilde hissedildiği sahanındışında kalmıştır. Bu durum söz konusu bir grup adada, hangi saiklarla Osmanlı idarîmekanizmasının inşa edildiği sorusuna ehemmiyet kazandırmıştır.

Abstract
The Cyclad Islands, located in the center of the Aegean Sea, had been conquered duringthe era of Suleiman the Magnificent and remained under Turkish administration for centuries.However, due to the fact that the Aegean Islands constitute an utmost important region,questions were brought on the agenda concerning the Ottoman rule, which could not beenanswered easily. In other words, a consensus, regarding the definition or identification of theTurkish dominion in that region could not be achieved. But it is a fact that the Cyclades werenot within the boundaries, were the central authority was extremely dominant. This fact gaveimportance to the question of which motive caused the establishment of the Ottomanadministration system on a group of island.
