Information for Authors


Spelling Rules

You can submit your articles by entering your e-mail address and password through the “Submit Manuscript” link on the main page:  http://www.nehrreview.com/  (use the drop-down box to select your language preference). You will be notified by email to your registered address when all referee comments are available. You may then review the referee comments through the same link. PLEASE NOTE: because you are allowed to edit the corrections one time only, you must wait until all referees submit their comments before editing your corrections.

Provide the complete names of all authors as they should appear in the published work. One of the authors should be designated as the corresponding author. It is the corresponding author's responsibility to ensure that the author list, and the individual contributions to the study are accurate and complete. If the article has been submitted on behalf of a consortium, all consortium members and their affiliations should be listed after the Acknowledgements section.

Authors' affiliations must include the full mailing addresses for correspondence, including e.g., institutional affiliation (e.g. university, institute), street address or post office box number, city, state/province (when applicable), and country.

The content in the articles should be as follows: Turkish title, English title, Turkish abstract and keywords, English abstract and keywords, main text, conclusion, bibliography, and appendices if any (maps, figures, etc.).

Abstract
Abstracts should be 150-200 words long. Shold be in Turkish and English languages.

A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of seven (5) keywords, in alphabetical order and separated by commas, should be included immediately following the Abstract. Keywords must be different from those appearing in the title.

1. Details such as page numbers, headers and footers should not be included in articles.

2. The main title of the article in Turkish should be written in capital letters, bold and 14 point size.

3. The English title should be written in lower case letters, bold and italic, with the first letters of the words capitalized. Example;

4. Only the first letters of each word in subheadings should be capitalized. Headings other than the introduction, conclusion and bibliography should be numbered.

5. The footnote method should be used in citing sources. Footnotes should be given after a period at the end of a sentence.

6. The order of "Name Surname" is preferred in footnotes, and "Surname, Name" is preferred in the bibliography. Page numbers given in footnotes for books are not required in the bibliography. However, page intervals for periodicals should be shown in the bibliography.

7. No comma should be placed between the place and date of publication in works. A space should be left after characters such as commas, periods, etc.

8. Explanations about tables, figures and graphs should be given as Table 1:, Figure 1:, Graph 1:. Explanations should be given above tables, figures and graphs. Titles of tables, figures and graphs should be in 11 point font, texts within tables, figures and graphs should be in 10 point font, if necessary, they can be reduced to 9 point font.

9. The studies are limited to 10,000 words.

10. Block quotes should be written 1 cm from the right and 1 cm from the left, without paragraph indents, if they are 4 lines or more. Non-block quotes of 3 lines or less should be written in italics within quotation marks.

FOOTNOTE AND REFERENCE USE


Footnote and Reference Use:

The source of quotations from books, articles or other works is included in the footnote section. In addition, any additional explanations or historical records deemed necessary regarding the information provided on the subject can be given in this section. 

1. BOOKS:

The full citation of the book should be given in the first use of books in the footnote. (Author's name and surname, name of the work, (trans. ....), publisher, place and date of publication, citation page)

Example:

Hilmi Ziya Ülken, Türkiye'de Çağdaş Düşünce Tarihi, Ülken Yayınları, İstanbul 2005, s. 153.

In the first use of articles in a footnote, the full citation of the article should be given. (Author's name and surname, "work title", journal name, Volume (Issue), publication date, citation page)

In the second or other uses of the same work in the footnote; (Surname, "work title", citation page).

The use of articles given in footnotes in the bibliography is as follows; (Author's surname, name; "work title", journal name, Volume (Issue), publication date, page range in the journal)

3. BOOK CHAPTERS

The full citation of book chapters should be given in the footnote when they are first used. (Author's name and surname, "book chapter name", book title, (editor's name), publisher's name, place and date of publication, page cited)

In the first use of Master's Theses and Doctoral Theses in the footnote, the full citation must be used. (Author's name and surname, thesis title, (edition information and type), place where the thesis was prepared, place and date of publication, citation page number)

In works with two authors, both authors' names are written. However, in works with three or more authors, the name of the author in the first place is written, followed by the abbreviation et al.

In manuscripts, the author, the name of the work, the library or archive where the manuscript is located and the location number, and the order of the pages are followed.
