Abstract
Giyim kuşam, tarihin kadim dönemlerinden beri insanların en zarûri ihtiyaçlarından birisi olmuştur. Bu ihtiyaçları; dini vecibeler, cinsiyetler arasındaki farklar, insanların yaşları, iklim, coğrafya, toplumsal baskılar, zevkler ve toplumsal-kişisel trendler gibi faktörler önemli derecede etkilemiştir. Çalışmamızda 52 nolu Sivas şeriye sicilindeki tereke kayıtları (1879-1880 yılları)na göre Sivasta kadın ve erkeğin giyim kuşamı ayrıntılı olarak ele alınacaktır.

Abstract
Dressing has been one of the necessities of human being since the ancient times. These necessities has been designed and affected to an enormous level by religious manners, diversity between the genders, human ages, climate factors, geography, social pressures, entertainment and social manners. In our study the dressing and embellishments in the Ottoman society will be scrutinized with looking into the deceased peoples heritage records, kept in Sivas (between the years 1879-1880).
