Abstract
Tarih boyunca gerek stratejik konumu gerek dini önemi nedeniyleher daim dikkati çekmiş olan Antakya şehri, I. Haçlı Seferinin duraknoktalarından biridir. Haçlıların ana hedefi olan Kudüs yolu üzerindebulunmaktadır ve Hıristiyanlığın Kudüs dışında yayıldığı ilk yerdir.Çok güçlü surlara sahip şehrin Haçlılar tarafından ele geçirilmesikolay olmamıştır. Yaklaşık bir yıl süren bu süreçte Haçlılar salgınhastalık ve özellikle kıtlık ve açlıkla mücadele etmek zorundakalmışlar, pek çok insan ve at ölümüne şahit olmuşlardır. Açlıkyüzünden normalde yemeyecekleri besinleri de yemek zorundakalmışlardır. Kuşatma şehir halkından birinin ihanetiyle Haçlılarlehine sonuçlanmıştır. Geç gelen Müslüman yardımı iç kaleyi ve şehrikurtarmaya yetmemiş, yapılan çok sayıda taktiksel hata sonucuAntakya Haçlıların eline geçmiştir. Bu kazanım ve moralle birlikteHaçlılar Kudüs`ü ele geçirecek ve iki yüz yıl Ortadoğu`yahuzursuzluk hâkim olacaktır.

Abstract
Attracted the attention throughout history both because of its strategicposition and religious significance, the city of Antioch is one of thedestinations of the first Crusades. The city is located on the road toJerusalem, the primary target of the Crusaders, and it is the firstlocation where Christianity spread after Jerusalem. The conquest ofthe city was not easy for the Crusaders because of its all powerfulwalls. Crusaders had to struggle against epidemic and particularlyfamine and hunger in this process that lasted about a year andwitnessed to deaths of many people and horses. Because of hunger,they had to eat foods they normally wouldnt eat. The siege resulted infavor of the Crusaders with the betrayal of one of the town folk.Delaying Muslim aid was not enough to save the citadel and the city,and Antioch was conquered by the Crusades as a result of manytactical failures. With this achievement and morale, the Crusaderswould conquer Jerusalem and unrest would last in the Middle East forthe next two centuries.
