Abstract
İstanbul Valiliği’nin 5 Kasım 2018 tarihli oluru ile gerçekleştirdiğimiz “İstanbul’un Tarihi Mektepleri Osmanlıca (eski Türkçe) Evrakının Arşivlenmesi ve Envanteri (1839-1928)” isimli projemiz ile dört yıllık bir süreçte İstanbul’un 39 ilçesine bağlı 40 tarihî okulda saha çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise projemiz kapsamında, Osmanlı Devleti’nin son dönemi ile Cumhuriyet devrinde, İstanbul’da orta ve lise kademesindeki eğitim kurumlarında Türkçe, Edebiyat, Coğrafya, Tabiiye ve Tarih muallimi olarak devlet hizmetinde istihdam edilmiş ve meşhur olan beş eğitimcinin biyografilerine yer verilmiştir.
Çalışmamızda ele alınan isimler, alanlarında birçok ilkleri gerçekleştirmiş, eser bırakmış ve birçok farklı özelliğe sahip öncü isimler olmalarına rağmen kamu vazifeleri hakkında sınırlı, hatalı ya da eksik bilgi bulunmaktadır. Görev yaptıkları okullardaki siciller ışığında ele alınan çalışmamız, biyografisi verilen isimlerin öğretmenlik yıllarını tüm yönleriyle ve ayrıntılı olarak ilk kez ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu çerçevede, ilk kez neşredilen fotoğraf, belge, bilgi ve bulgularla Türk Eğitim Tarihi literatürüne ve ileride yapılacak neşriyata katkı sağlamak hedeflenmiştir.

Abstract
The project entitled “Archiving and Inventory of Ottoman (old Turkish) Documents of Historical Schools in Istanbul (1839-1928)” was carried out in 40 historical schools in 39 districts of Istanbul in a four-year period with the approval of the Istanbul Governorship on 5 November 2018. In this study, within the scope of our project, it is aimed to include the biographies of five renowned educators who were employed in the state service at secondary and high schools in İstanbul as teachers of Turkish Language, Literature, Geography, Nature and History during the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic period.
Even though the names presented in the study are pioneers with many different features, who achieved several firsts in their fields and left precious works behind; there is limited, incorrect or incomplete information about their public duties. Our study, which is conducted in the light of the records of the schools where they work, reveals the teaching years of the names whose biographies are given for the first time in all aspects and in detail. Within this framework, it is targeted to contribute to the literature of Turkish History of Education and to further studies with the photographs, documents, data and findings published for the first time.
